Mandy ( [link] ) and I have entered into Dimestore Production's 'Small Press Idol' competition for independant comic books. We are now nearing the end of round two of the competition.

Now, this contest has been anything but smooth. We entered at the last minute, which made our first round entry very rushed and not as good as we would have liked. But, we managed to get thru, and Mandy worked very hard on the art for round two. I'm not going to go into any details, but once our round two requirements were submitted we requested to withdraw from the rest of the contest, for a varity of reasons. We were not allowed to do so without potentially losing the rights to the property that we created, so we are going to stick it out, though frankly our heart isn't really in the contest anymore. But our heart is still in the property, and I am a competative person by nature, so while we are not campaining hard to make the third round we're not going to just roll over and die either.

Round two is up for public vote. The top 12 vote getters advance to round three. The rest are still going to be printed, just no longer in competition for prizes. Unfortunately, the voting process is somewhat cumbersome, and you must be a registered member of Dimestore Production's message boards to vote. If not, I don't blame you. It took us two days to even bother to vote for ourselves. : )
